Available at both our Palm Beach Gardens and Stuart locations

Open Daily: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM | Walk-Ins Welcome

On-Site EKG Testing - Immediate Heart Rhythm Analysis

An electrocardiogram (EKG or ECG) measures your heart's electrical activity to detect rhythm abnormalities, heart attacks, and other cardiac conditions. We provide on-site EKG testing with rapid interpretation by our medical providers, allowing for immediate evaluation and treatment decisions. Walk-ins welcome at both Palm Beach Gardens and Stuart locations, open daily 8am-8pm.

When You May Need an EKG

  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Heart palpitations or irregular heartbeat
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting
  • Unexplained fatigue or weakness
  • Rapid or slow heart rate
  • Pre-operative cardiac clearance
  • Follow-up for known heart conditions
  • Evaluation of medication effects on heart rhythm
  • Family history of heart disease with new symptoms

How We Perform EKG Testing

Our on-site EKG equipment provides immediate heart rhythm analysis during your visit. The test is quick, non-invasive, and painless. Our medical providers interpret results promptly, allowing for immediate treatment decisions or appropriate referrals when specialized cardiac care is needed. We coordinate with cardiologists when follow-up is required.

After Your EKG

An EKG is non-invasive with no recovery time needed. You can resume normal activities immediately. If your EKG shows abnormalities, our medical providers will discuss next steps, which may include medication, lifestyle modifications, or referral to a cardiologist. We coordinate follow-up care and ensure your primary care provider receives your results. If you experience worsening chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or loss of consciousness after your visit, call 911 immediately. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment for an EKG?

No appointment is necessary. We welcome walk-ins daily from 8am to 8pm at both our Palm Beach Gardens and Stuart locations. However, if you're experiencing severe chest pain or other emergency symptoms, call 911 immediately.

How long does an EKG take?

The actual EKG recording takes about 5-10 minutes. Including preparation, testing, and results discussion with our medical provider, most patients complete their visit within 30-45 minutes.

Is an EKG painful?

No, an EKG is completely painless. Small electrode stickers are placed on your chest, arms, and legs to record your heart's electrical activity. You simply lie still while the machine records the information.

Will I get my results immediately?

Yes, our medical providers interpret EKG results during your visit and discuss findings with you before you leave. You'll receive a copy of your EKG for your records, and we can send results to your primary care provider.

What can an EKG detect?

An EKG can detect irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias), signs of heart attack (current or previous), heart enlargement, inadequate blood flow to the heart, and effects of medications or devices on heart function. However, a normal EKG doesn't always rule out heart disease, which is why clinical evaluation is essential.

Do I need to prepare for an EKG?

No special preparation is needed. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your chest. Avoid using lotions or oils on your chest on the day of testing, as they can interfere with electrode adhesion.

What should I bring to my visit?

Please bring your photo ID, insurance card (if applicable), list of current medications, and any previous EKG results if available. This information helps us provide comprehensive cardiac evaluation.

When should I go to the emergency room instead of urgent care?

Go to the emergency room or call 911 if you experience severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, or symptoms of a heart attack (chest pressure with arm/jaw pain, sweating, nausea). Urgent care is appropriate for less severe symptoms requiring evaluation.
